It lives in alpine forests at an altitude of 1,500-3,300 meters all the year round and lives in groups as a family. It is worth mentioning that Sichuan golden monkey is a unique and precious animal in China, listed in CITES Appendix I and IUCN Endangered Protection List, and is a national first-class protected animal. According to the introduction of Chongqing Zoo, a family of three Sichuan golden monkeys who immigrated to Chongqing from Chengdu, Cheng Cheng, Yu Yu and Ding Ding, were introduced to Chongqing Zoo for the first time, filling the gap of no golden monkeys in the park.
